Warm Cinnamon Rolls on Sunday Morning

“Warm Cinnamon Rolls on Sunday Morning” (Castle Knob Publishing) is live! It had a roaring reception, as it zipped to #2 on the Amazon New Releases by Women in Poetry list; and made it to #13 in the over all poetry book sales for a fun, if not fleeting, moment.

I like to be all humble and self-confident to think that the lists didn’t matter; but my frequent refreshing of the pages tells otherwise. There was a small pit in my gut that I would put this work out to the world and the world would pat me on my head and tell me, “That’s nice.” and I would have a virtual box of books in the attic of my brain. To have it so well received by those who love me, like me or follow me on social media was thrilling. It was a rare, seldom seen, speechless moment. Thank you to all who made it possible.

It has given me pause to think about all I have in my life. The good, the bad, the mediocre; that is what “Warm Cinnamon Rolls on Sunday Morning” is about; life as most people know it. Sure, there are better and worse; but in the middle is the majority that live good lives with beauty all around us. 2020 offered us a lot of lessons, a big one is to appreciate the small things. Coffee table chats, interactions with neighbors, picnics with family and friends; these simple pleasures were the interactions that were missed.

My poem, “Investment Lesson”, says:

“You realize the reasons to go; Are the life your soul has been missing”

I hope “Warm Cinnamon Rolls on Sunday Morning” will remind you to find the things your soul has been missing and reach for them.

Thank you for your time, support and friendship
